Morocco in 8 days magical tour from Fes to Marrakech & Desert

Tour Program

Day 1: Airport - Fes

In your arrival to the airport you meet the driver, who will drive you to your accommodation.

Day 2: Fes Exploring

after breakfast we go for a visit of Fes; in which we will drive with the local guide to visit the Jewish quarter, the cemetery, the synagogue; one of the synagogues, that is still in good form, and recently restored, while walking through the Mellah. In your way we pass by the gate of the royal palace, a very artistic gate made of copper by hands of local artisans of Fes, tiled with blue and white in Fes style. Later on we drive to overview the old Medina of Fes, from one of the watch towers dominating the hilly land around the city, and go farther to visit the tils co-operative, the school of artisans. And drop you in one of the principal gates of the Medina to go for a couple of hours walking inside the labyrinth, one of the biggest free car cities in the world. There you are visiting the old madrassa Bouinania, Moulay Idriss shrine, the old mosque, and the oldest university Al karaouien, and many artisans quarters. By the afternoon and after lunch we meet the car again in one of the gates to drive you back to your accommodation. (if you need the car to drive you to the Jewish club for Kosher dinner dinner it will be on your disposition)

Day 3: Fes - Midelt - Ziz valley - Merzouga

After breakfast, we will be driving in direction desert southeast of Morocco. In the middle Atlas, we stop in a town known as the little Switzerland of Morocco, famous with its A frame roved houses, latter while driving in the cedar forests, you can stop to watch monkeys in there wild life. A long drive will take us through the city of Midelt, famous with apple agriculture, Cristal and khol mining. Crossing the High Atlas we will keep driving through Ziz valley; one of the important agricultural valleys of the southeast of the country with its 10 Millons of date palms, the river carved it's way in between pink lime stone rocks, in a contrast of green vegetation and red iron colored rocky Mountains. In some panoramic you will be able to watch a spectacular sunset over the valley. After sunset you arrive to your accommodation.

Day 4: Desert activities

After breakfast, we drive you to the village from where you will ride your buggies for a ride of one hour, with a guide to enjoy your adventure in sand dunes. When you return back we drive back to the hotel for a shower, and again leave to visit villages and the oasis, go for walk between the fields follow the irrigation system. Later we visit the village of black people attend some music of theirs in on of the co-operatives, later after lunch we drive to the hotel, there a 4wd car will pick you to the camel ride place, you will ride the camels for around 45 minutes, in your way to the camp you are invited to watch one of your life time sunsets, admire some of the most spectacular moments of Sahara desert, later you get to the camp. If you like to try some sand boarding, there will be boards in the camp. Overnight in the camp deluxe, with half-board.

Day 5: Merzouga - Toudra gorges - Dades and Rose valley

Today you wake up early before sunrise climb the sand dunes around your Camp to admire the beautiful sunrise coming up from the heart of Sahara desert. You come back to the camp after, shower, and breakfast; you can choose either leave by camels back, or by a 4wd car, to meet the van again, and drive to the High Atlas mountains. In the way, we drive through Erfoud a village konwn by fossils, and date. There you can go for a visit to a small synagogue and the jewish cemetery of the village, a Jewish community used to co-exist with the Muslim community in this village, like many others places around Morocco, Izaak Abouhassira's son Samuel is buried in Erfoud. And after a drive of 100 km you will be in Toudra valley, famous also as a valley where Jews lived together with the Muslim community, there is a famous documentary about the immigration of people from there to Jerusalem called "from Tinghir to Jerusalem" few years ago. There if we were good on the schedule, we can go for a hike in the valley, before we drive farther to the canyon. Later we are driving through Dades Valley, overnight in your accommodation Riad Tazawa or similar. With Half-board.

Day 6: Rose valley - Ouarzazate - Ait Ben haddou - Marrakech

Early after breakfast, like everyday we keep driving in direction of Marrakech, through Skoura valley, Ouarzazate, the famous movie industrial city of Morocco, and North Africa by its movie sets and studios, if you like to go on a visit to a synagogue at the outskirt of the city, in Kasbah Tifoultout, a destination of many Jews as well, many Moroccan Jews come for sermons along the year. Later on you go for a visit to the famous old village Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, heritage of humanity by UNESCO, and a site for many famous movies (the jewel of the Nile, gladiator, Laurance of Arabia,.....). you can order lunch (vegetarian) before you go on the visit of the village. Back for lunch. later on we drive through the very cenic mountains of High Atlas where you will do stops for panoramic and nice overviews all the way to Marrakech,later at the afternoon you arrive to your accommodation. Overnight in Marrakech.

Day 7: Marrakech Exploring

The entire day is devoted to exploring the famous city of Marrakech, the second oldest Imperial city which has for centuries been an important stop for traders and travelers. Your tour will include the famous Jardin Majoralle, the Bahia Palace and the Saadian tombs. Visit the Koutoubia Mosque, with its 66 metre high minaret dominating the centre of Marrakech.In the afternoon visit Djemaa El Fna Square, the centre square of the medina which comes alive by sunset and through night with local storytellers, musicians, entertainers, snake charmers and the scent of delicious food being grilled over hot coals. Overnight in the same hotel.

Day 8: Marrakech - Airport

At the time you decide, will be better to put in minde that from your accommodation to the airport Mohammed V in Casablanca you will need 3 hour drive to be there, more over 2 hour early time for the check in at the airport.
The driver will come to meet you in your accommodation, and drive you to the airport.
